Pilates Fundamentals- Mat
This class will work at a slower pace to help you gain greater body awareness and ensure you are engaging the target muscles for each exercise. We will work through traditional Pilates mat exercises as well as others for core strength, stretching and balance. Feel the benefits of focused movement while gaining a greater understanding of breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, scapular stabilization and cervical alignment.
Pilates on the Ball
The swiss ball, originally used as a physical therapy tool, is great for core development, coordination, balance training and neuromuscular feedback. In this class, the ball will be used for most every exercise to support the body or to increase challenge. Participants will progress through Essential and Intermediate level exercises as they adapt to the instability of the swiss ball. Moderate pace, comfortable sitting or rolling over on ball.
